To start up your Trezor device, follow these steps:
1. Unboxing and Preparation:
Open the box containing your Trezor device.
Ensure that you have the device, a USB cable, and any other accessories included.
Make sure your computer or mobile device is connected to the internet.
2. Connect Your Trezor Device:
Plug one end of the USB cable into your Trezor device.
Connect the other end of the USB cable to an available USB port on your computer or mobile device.
3. Visit trezor.io/start:
Open your web browser and go to trezor.io/start.
4. Choose Your Device:
On the Trezor Start page, select your Trezor device model (e.g., Trezor One, Trezor Model T).
5. Install Trezor Bridge (Optional):
Depending on your operating system, you may need to install Trezor Bridge, a software component that allows your computer to communicate with your Trezor device securely.
Follow the on-screen instructions to download and install Trezor Bridge if necessary.
6. Install Trezor Firmware:
If your Trezor device requires a firmware update, you'll be prompted to install it.
Follow the on-screen instructions to initiate the firmware update process.
Make sure to keep your Trezor device connected and wait for the update to complete.
7. Create a New Wallet or Recover an Existing One:
If you're setting up your Trezor device for the first time, you'll need to create a new wallet:
Follow the on-screen instructions to generate a new seed phrase using the Trezor device.
Write down the seed phrase on the provided recovery sheet and keep it in a safe place. Do not share it with anyone.
Confirm the seed phrase on your Trezor device to complete the setup process.
If you're recovering an existing wallet:
Select the "Recover Wallet" option and enter your recovery seed phrase when prompted.
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the recovery process.
8. Set Up PIN and Label:
After creating or recovering your wallet, you'll be prompted to set up a PIN for added security.
Choose a PIN using the device's touchscreen interface and confirm it.
Optionally, you can label your device to distinguish it from other Trezor devices you may own.
9. Access Your Wallet:
Once the setup process is complete, you'll be redirected to the Trezor Wallet interface.
From here, you can manage your cryptocurrency assets, send and receive transactions, and explore additional features offered by Trezor.
10. Safely Disconnect Your Trezor Device:
When you're finished using your Trezor device, make sure to safely disconnect it from your computer or mobile device.
Follow any on-screen prompts to safely eject the device or disconnect the USB cable.
Congratulations! You've successfully started up your Trezor device and set up your wallet. Make sure to keep your recovery seed phrase secure and never share it with anyone.
